Well here I am Amanda Chantal Irvine. Born in Portsmouth, 1967. Beauty Therapist, Massage Therapist, Holistic Therapist, Reiki Master, College lecturer, Mother of two and now salon owner. Working from my sensational home salon ‘Firefly Beauty & Wellbeing’.
My interest in skincare started back in 1980 when I attended a neighbour’s ‘Oraflame’ home party. Then in 1984 I had my first professional make-up lesson at ‘The House of Fraser’ Manchester. That’s when I knew I wanted to work in the Beauty Industry.
I started my professional training at Salford College, aged 18. I loved every minute of my two-year course – the theory, the practical, the case studies and work placement.
Over the years I have continued to develop new skills and knowledge adding to my original qualifications as the new treatments, products and trends have advanced over the decades of my career.
I am very fortunate to be able to say that I honesty have loved my role as a Beauty Therapist and working in this environment has always given me great job satisfaction.
In 1990 I pursued my teaching career, qualifying with Distinction. I consider myself very lucky to have taught at several North West Colleges, training and guiding beauty and holistic students for over twenty-five years.
In 2015 I decided to take voluntary redundancy from Runshaw College to return to the ‘shop floor’ – hands on in my own salon. I have genuinely never looked back!
Opening my own salon Firefly Beauty & Wellbeing has been a marvellous adventure. From deciding the name, designing the logo, ordering equipment and selecting products to achieve desired results for my clients.
I am loving my time in Firefly Beauty & Wellbeing. Enjoying hands on treatments where I can mix and match my finely tuned skills, techniques and extensive knowledge to achieve your skin care, body & mind wellbeing needs.
Firefly's Mission is to help you achieve a balanced and healthy lifestyle
